How to Clean a Car Windshield Inside

Cleaning the outside of your car’s windshield is one thing, but cleaning the inside is where it can get tricky and become a hassle. With FIAT of Tacoma’s guide, however, it’s easy for Seattle drivers to make their cars look great. First, gather what you’ll need: microfiber cloths, glass cleaner (your preferred brand), and rubbing alcohol. Then, follow the steps below to give your new or pre-owned FIAT vehicle a cleaner look and feel.

How to Clean Inside Car Windows: Step-By-Step Guide

Is the view from the driver’s seat starting get blurry? Cleaning the inside of your car windows might do the trick. Here’s how:

  • Start by wiping down the glass with the microfiber cloth to remove any dust and dirt that’s sticking to the surface.
  • Spray the glass cleaner onto the cloth and wipe the inside of the windshield. If you missed anything the first time, this should grab it. You’re not quite finished, though.
  • Pour a little rubbing alcohol onto a clean microfiber cloth and wipe the area once again. This will cut through any grease on the surface and remove the blurriness.
  • For good measure, give the inside of the windshield another once over with the glass clean. Or, you can apply a glass polish to give it a sparkling clean look.

Can You Use Windex on Car Windows?

When they’re looking for tips on how to clean car windshields, drivers often ask us, “Can you use Windex on car windows?” Yes, you can. Although drivers are often cautioned against using it for tinted windows, there’s no evidence to suggest that it causes damage. You may want to be safe and avoid using it if your windows were tinted by a third party. If they were tinted at the factory, your windows will be fine. Getting Windex on leather seats, however, can cause discoloration. If you have any questions about which products are safe to use on your FIAT, contact our service center

More Tips to Clean Your Car’s Windshield

Are there still pesky spots on the inside of your car’s windshield? Follow these steps to avoid getting them in the first place:

  • Avoid using paper towels to clean the inside of the car windshield. Microfiber clothes don’t leave behind paper fibers and don’t create streaks.
  • Use a reach-and-clean tool to get the corners of the windshield, so you don’t end up with spots in the corners.
  • When cleaning, move the cloth in a circular motion. After you’ve finished, use vertical motions to remove any streaks.
  • You can use the above-listed cleaning process on all of the interior windows, as well as the windshield.
