FIAT 500 MPG Ratings by Powertrain
The 2019 Fiat 500 comes powered by a 1.4L MultiAir® Turbo 4-cylinder engine. On most models, this engine makes 135 hp and 150 lb-ft of torque, but the FIAT 500 Abarth delivers a bump up to 160 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque with the manual transmission, or 154 hp and 183 lb-ft of torque with the automatic. Despite the difference in output between the Abarth and the other FIAT 500 models, the MultiAir® Turbo engine gets the same EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings:
- 1.4L MultiAir® Turbo 4-cylinder with 5-speed Manual Transmission – 33 mpg highway, 28 mpg city
- 1.4L MultiAir® Turbo 4-cylinder with 6-speed Automatic Transmission – 33 mpg highway, 28 mpg city
Performance Meets Efficiency
The FIAT 500 uses a number of technologies to help deliver the biggest bang for your buck. In order to maximize performance without sacrificing efficiency, this model features a standard efficient final-drive gear ratio, as well as dual intercoolers on the Abarth trim.
